Terms & Conditions

The terms and conditions detailed below are for No12 Hotel Ltd. Trading as No12 Hotel & Bistro and apply to all bookings made online, by telephone or in person.

When you make a booking, your contract (which shall include these terms and conditions) will be with No12 Hotel Ltd. Trading as No12 Hotel & Bistro, 12 Quality Street, North Berwick, EH39 4HP.

Tariff

All prices displayed are per night including bed and breakfast.

All prices include V.A.T at the current prevailing rate.

Prices are subject to change without notice. However, your price is guaranteed once you have paid a deposit. Deposits are non-refundable even due to adverse weather conditions.

The price does not include any incidental charges which you may incur during your stay such as restaurant, bar and telephone charges. All such charges should be paid on departure.

In the event that these charges are not paid it is a condition of your contract with ‘No12 Hotel & Bistro’ that you irrevocably authorise ‘No12 Hotel & Bistro’ to debit your credit or debit card for the amount of any shortfall. This also applies to charges that were unknown upon checkout but that were incurred during your stay.

Smoking

Smoking is not permitted at No12 Hotel & Bistro. This includes the use of e-cigarettes. All areas of the building including the bathrooms are fitted with smoke detectors which activate the fire alarm. If the fire alarm activates due to guests smoking in the bedrooms, then the guests will be responsible for the call out charge of emergency services. The hotel has the right to charge the guests for the applicable fee. If the house keeping department believe the guests have been smoking in the premises then we reserve the right to charge a fee of £100 for the deep cleaning of the facility.

Dogs and other pets

Only well-behaved pets are allowed to stay in the hotel. They must sleep in their own basket/bed and not be allowed on any of the furniture in the room. We would ask that wet or muddy dogs are not taken to the bedrooms. As from 1st June 2014, an extra £10 charge will apply to guests who wish to bring any pets to stay at No12 Hotel & Bistro. This is to cover the extra cleaning that is required for animals. If the room is particularly dirty we will charge an additional cleaning fee of £30. Please note that only guide dogs are allowed into the bistro, no other pets are allowed.

Vehicles

Car parking spaces are very limited at the rear of the hotel, and cannot be guaranteed or reserved. All vehicles are parked at the owners’ risk. Should a problem occur with a vehicle in the hotels car park, then the hotel cannot accept any liability. There is a public car park at the rear of the hotel which is free to park, and also has no time restrictions.

WIFI

WiFi is provided free of charge in most areas of ‘No12 Hotel & Bistro’. We do not guarantee that your equipment will connect in your room as this depends on the gain of your WiFi receiver. WiFi is subject to availability, ‘No12 Hotel & Bistro’ takes no responsibility for, and will not be liable for, WiFi being unavailable due to technical issues beyond our control; no guarantee of any sort is given that WiFi will be available. Anyone using WiFi does so on the understanding that they will not download pornographic images of any sort, criminal or terrorist information, or material covered by copyright. Users will also not submit defamatory information on any social network site using the ‘No12 Hotel & Bistro’ WiFi network. ‘No12 Hotel & Bistro’ will not be held liable for any misuse of the WiFi by its residents or guests.

Deposits and Pre-Payments

A deposit is required to confirm all accommodation bookings and is currently £50 per room. Until such time as the deposit is paid all bookings are provisional and may be released at any time without prior notification to the booker.

You are required to guarantee your booking with a valid debit or credit card at the time of booking.

Account Settlement

On the rare occasion when damage occurs by negligence or a deliberate action taken by a Guest, which directly or indirectly causes loss to ‘No12 Hotel & Bistro’, the Guest agrees to indemnify such losses, and that this forms part of the agreement at the time of booking.

All accounts unless, with prior arrangement must be settled on departure.

A valid credit/debit card must be available on arrival. If you intend to settle your account with cash then we will ask you for payment of your accommodation in advance.

‘No12 Hotel & Bistro’ accepts all Major credit and Debit cards.

Cancellations and Amendments

All cancellations must be made in accordance with our cancellation policy.

Cancellations vary in accordance with the number of rooms booked.

Cancellation made within 60 days prior to your booking will receive a refund of 50% of any deposit received. (Please note this does not apply for bookings that consist of more than two rooms) Cancellations made 30 days prior to your reservations will incur the relevant deposits being held. Cancellations made 7 days prior to arrival will be charged the fee of 1 night’s stay including tax.

Bookings that consist of more than two rooms are considered as a group booking. Deposits will be held when a group cancellation has been made 60 days prior to arrival. Group cancellations made 30 days prior to arrival will be charged the fee of 1 night’s stay including tax per room.

Whilst we will make every effort to fulfil any special requests that you may have in relation to your booking, we cannot unfortunately guarantee that we will be able to meet any particular requests that you make and any failure in this regarded by ourselves will not constitute a breach of contract.

In the unlikely event that we have to change or amend your reservation, we reserve the right to do so. However you have the right to:

  • accept the changed arrangements as notified or
  • cancel your reservation and receive a full refund for any monies you have paid ‘No12 Hotel & Bistro’ in respect of your reservation.

‘No12 Hotel & Bistro’ will not be liable for any sums you have paid to any other persons in connection with your reservation and we will have no further liability should you wish to cancel your reservation.

We respectfully remind all guests that a reservation made verbally or in writing constitutes a legal contract between themselves and ‘No12 Hotel & Bistro’ and cancellation policies will be strictly enforced.

Third party reservations may have a different policy for cancellations and amendments. You should contact the agency you booked through if you wish to modify or cancel your reservation.

Unable to travel

If you are unable to travel due to illness or weather-related issues, and you cancel within the cancellation period, then ‘No12 Hotel & Bistro’ have the right to charge guests the cancellation fee. If any cancellations are made out with the cancellation period then the booker will be refunded any money due.

General Information

Rates are inclusive of staying in ‘No12 Hotel & Bistro’ and one choice from the residential breakfast menu.

Dinner, Bed and Breakfast rates are also available which include either 2 or 3 course meal (specified when booker makes booking). Supplement charges may apply for certain dishes for this offer. Courses are chosen from the Bistro Menu and may not include daily specials. For further information, please contact Hotel and Restaurant Manager.

Prior to your departure from the hotel, you will be required to settle your bill.

Checking in and out: Arrival and Departure: Hotel rooms are available from 3.00pm till 10pm on the day of arrival. Any check-ins out with this period must notify the hotel directly. Early check in can be requested but not guaranteed. Rooms must be vacated by 11.00am on the day of departure, unless otherwise sanctioned at the discretion of the hotel manager.

‘No12 Hotel & Bistro’ shall not be responsible for any loss or damage which you may suffer arising from events outside of its control or its suppliers. This could include without limitation; Fire, Failure of gas, electric or other power supplies, strikes, industrial action, terrorist activity, transportation problems, bad weather.
